I help teams ship software with confidence.

I'm Luis Hernandez, a QA Manager with more than eight years of experience building quality systems across web, mobile, and API products. I lead teams, develop scalable automation strategies, and help organizations make better release decisions through risk-based testing and meaningful quality metrics.

Quality has been my path since 2017.

Hey, I'm Luis.

In 2017, I returned to school to study web development and quickly discovered that I was better at breaking software than building it. That realization led me into quality assurance, and I haven't looked back.

Since then, I've progressed from product support and hands-on testing into automation engineering, QA leadership, and quality management. I've built automation frameworks, improved release processes, led QA teams, introduced practical quality metrics, and helped engineers and product teams identify risk earlier.

Today, I'm especially interested in how quality engineering is evolving. In addition to leading traditional web, mobile, API, and automation initiatives, I'm building experience in AI evaluation and exploring how teams can test AI-powered products more reliably.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, going to the gym, discovering new restaurants, making cocktails, and having meaningful conversations with people from different backgrounds. Peru remains one of my favorite destinations, and the Machu Picchu photograph reflects the curiosity and sense of exploration I bring to both life and work.

"I believe strong QA is not a final checkpoint. It is a system of shared responsibility built into product discovery, engineering, delivery, and learning."

Quality work should create measurable impact.

My approach to quality.

Find risk early.

Quality improves when QA participates in discovery, refinement, architecture discussions, and planning—not only after development is complete.

Automate with purpose.

The goal of automation is not the largest test count. The goal is reliable feedback, reduced repetitive work, and better release confidence.

Make quality visible.

Useful metrics help teams understand coverage, leakage, regression health, and release risk without reducing quality to a single number.

"Quality is not about preventing teams from shipping. It is about helping them understand what they are shipping and how confident they should be."

Let's start a conversation.

I'm always interested in connecting with people working on quality engineering, QA leadership, automation, AI evaluation, and software products. I'm also open to discussing QA leadership positions and consulting opportunities.
